I am the type of person that once I decide to do something, I don't ever like to give up. Even though I have a few readings to finish and I know that is more important, I wanted to show that I could do the photo if I took the time and followed Dr. McVerry's instructions. So I went back to Pixlr and this time, I decided to look at the help videos. They had some great "Screen casts" that showed how to do things like use the lasso tool and the magic wand as well as a video about using layers. So I opened up my beach photo and adjusted the pixel size so it fit the whole page and then I opened the picture of my dog Max in a new image. Then using the lasso tool, I cut out Max and then cut and pasted him onto the beach background. Now he was way to big so I took Dr. McVerry's advice and went into Edit- Free Transform and I was able to resize and more him to the perfect spot. Unfortunately, while I was trying to clean up his image, I erased a little bit of his right paw which is why it looks strange, but there was no way I was going to strat over so I left it like that. Next, I found an image of a thought bubble online and did the same cut and past process to put it on my photo. Again I used the Free Transform (Great tool! Could have never done this without it) to size and move it to where I wanted and then added the text and found a font that for some reason I felt like Max would be thinking in if this was real life haha. I know in my last blog post, I had talked about wanting to put sunglasses on him, but I wasn't sure how difficult that would be and I still have to do those readings so I nized that idea. All in all though, I really like how it came out, and I am proud of myself for not giving up and trying again. This photo editor is so much fun, I want to continue learning how to use it so I could become better and have some fun with photoshop.
